Not all dolls have the same availability. Use these guidelines to determine each doll’s availability.
This doll is always available and can be purchased at any time.
This doll is offered for a limited period, typically ranging from a week to several months. Once the ordering window closes, it will no longer be available for purchase.
This doll is only available in limited quantities. For example, if 20 are made, orders will close once all 20 are sold.
These gifts are only available when purchased alongside a regular order and cannot be purchased separately. Occasionally, receiving a gift requires ordering a specific doll, purchasing the full package, or exceeding a minimum order amount.
This doll is no longer available for purchase, and its sculpts and molds have been retired. This applies to any doll, whether it was a standard release, an event gift, or a limited-quantity item.
The availability of this doll is unknown. This may be because the contributor was unsure or the company did not provide clear information. For example, Dollshe is known for discontinuing dolls and then re-releasing them months later as time-limited or limited-quantity items (or both 🙄), so their availability is generally listed as ‘unknown.’
A one-off doll is a piece made only once and never produced again. This mostly applies to individual artists. Larger companies may occasionally release a “one-off,” but it is usually based on an existing sculpt with different styling or an exotic resin color—Soom is a prime example.
Database Guidelines:
Do not add a doll if it is not a truly unique sculpt already absent from the database.
By “unique,” it must be a completely new sculpt (e.g., a closed-eye version of a previously open-eye sculpt) and the only one in existence.
These dolls—typically listed as a body or head—are not available for individual purchase. They are usually provided for display purposes, allowing collectors to see the blank doll. In most cases, the displayed items can only be obtained by purchasing a full doll (head + body).
A blind box doll is a sealed, opaque package containing a surprise collectible doll from a themed series, where the specific figure inside is unknown until opened.
Database Guidelines:
All dolls must be strung. No hinge joints, screws (or equivalents), or internal skeletons, such as those found in vinyl dolls, are allowed.
Do not upload each character individually. Add the body and one head only, unless the head (or body) has truly unique sculptural differences.
Molded hair pieces do not count as unique sculpts, as they are considered styling options (like wigs).
Different appendages—such as detachable horns or ears—can be added as features.
This refers to dolls from a blind box series that are time-limited or quantity-limited. While part of a blind box series, you likely know which doll is inside. Many of these dolls come in unique packaging.
Important Guidelines:
Only add the doll if it has unique sculptural differences from its standard blind box counterpart.
Differences in painting or styling options (such as molded plastic wigs or outfits) do not count as unique sculptural differences.
You may include images of the limited edition doll in the main blind box sculpt listing.
I have considered allowing these strung ball-jointed dolls into the database. Most of these dolls are only available through a blind box method and are YoSD-sized. UFDoll, however, offers non-blind box dolls in SD/Uncle sizes and are hard to differentiate from their resin counterparts.
If, in the distant future, the non-resin dolls begin devouring too much database space, I’ll be forced to exile them to a separate workspace. That would require creating an entirely new application—but thankfully, that day still lies far ahead.
If you haven’t stumbled upon this grim little fact elsewhere, the highest SaaS tier only allows 250,000 rows. And those rows are shared between dolls, companies, resin comparisons, and even website members (with each doll counting as a single row).
